Stunning riverside hotel

Location

The Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa is perfectly positioned for guests planning a trip to Royal Ascot, thanks to its central riverside location in the heart of Windsor. Ascot Racecourse is approximately 7 miles away, with raceday transfers taking approximately 20-30 minutes, making the hotel a convenient and characterful base for racegoers.

The nearest railway stations are Windsor & Eton Central and Windsor & Eton Riverside, both within easy walking distance of the hotel, offering regular services to London and straightforward connections onwards to Ascot. With excellent road and rail links, as well as Windsor’s shops, restaurants and historic attractions close by, the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa is an excellent choice for a Royal Ascot stay.

Parking

The hotel has a limited number of its own dedicated parking spaces located in Windsor & Eton Riverside Station Car Park. These are just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and are available with pre-booking only, for £15 per night.

There are a number of alternative car parks in Windsor with varying costs per 24 hours.

Dining

The hotel offers a delightful range of dining facilities and options set against its picturesque riverside location by the River Thames. The centrepiece is The Brasserie at Sir Christopher Wren, a relaxed yet stylish riverside restaurant where guests can enjoy all‑day dining with a seasonal menu of modern British and continental dishes, from a hearty Full English breakfast to lunch and dinner with scenic views of swans and boats on the Thames.

The hotel is also known for its Riverside Afternoon Tea, a popular experience served daily with traditional finger sandwiches, scones and sweet treats — ideal for the day before or after you go racing. Breakfast service is available each morning, and the hotel provides room service for added convenience throughout much of the day, including breakfasts and lighter options. In good weather the terrace offers outdoor dining with views of Eton Bridge, and the bar and lounge areas provide a comfortable spot for drinks, cocktails and relaxed socialising. Overall, the dining at Sir Christopher Wren blends scenic settings with flexible choices for meals, snacks and special occasions within a charming historic hotel

Leisure Facilities

The Sir Christopher Wren Hotel has a fitness centre, where guests can use a fully equipped, multi‑story gym with free weights, resistance and aerobic machines, and stretching areas to maintain their workout routine. The fitness facilities also include a sauna, giving visitors an opportunity to unwind after a day at the races.

Spa

The Spa at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel is a more intimate wellness space compared with larger destination spas. Set beside the River Thames in a historic boutique hotel, the spa experience blends relaxation with simple wellbeing: guests can enjoy a sauna, an outdoor jacuzzi/whirlpool, and a relaxation room, alongside access to a fully equipped gym as part of the Wren’s Club health suite. There are also dedicated treatment rooms where therapists offer massages, facials and other spa rituals designed to help you unwind after a day at the races. While the facilities don’t include a full‑scale pool or thermal circuit, the riverside setting and combination of massage, heat experiences and fitness options make it a pleasant retreat within the hotel’s charming historic context.

""Just come back from an amazing experience at Royal Ascot. Met Tom and Ed on the Thursday and could not be more impressed with either! A great stay at the Sir Christopher Wren paired with a brilliant days racing at Ascot. Will be rebooking for 2025 and definitely recommending to friends and family, lets hope for the same sun in 2025!""

""Royal Ascot day 2 with RacingBreaks. We stayed at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel in Windsor, booked through Racing Breaks. The hotel was lovely, with attentive staff, and the complimentary drink was a nice touch. Great breakfast before our day at the races. The lovely air-conditioned coach took us to and from the course. The Queen Anne enclosure had great viewing for both the parade ring and for watching racing. We both had a fabulous day and we will definitely use Racing breaks in the future for our horse racing trips. Thanks to Tom and the team.""
