First run in 1937, the Stockholm Cup has moved venues three times in its history. Currently staged at Bro Park, Sweden’s purpose-built racing headquarters (opened in 2016), 2023’s meeting featured a flying dismount from Frankie Dettori.
Stockholm Cup Day also includes three listed contests: the Lanwades Stud Stakes, the Tattersalls Nickes Minneslöpning and the Bro Park Sprint Championship. It also sees two jump races: HM The King’s Prize (over fences) and HM The Queen’s Prize (over hurdles).
Guests on 2023’s trip met Hollie Doyle. They also posed questions to Swedish racing professionals, including trainer Patrick Wahl and top jockeys Ulrika Holmquist and Per-Anders Gråberg.
There is no formal dress code for the Stockholm Cup International. As an outdoor autumn festival, the emphasis is on dressing warmly and comfortably – practical layers, a jacket (winds can be brisk), and comfortable shoes for walking the venue are strongly recommended. Organizers love stylish touches like hats, dresses, and elegant outfits, but nothing is required. A popular optional Best Dressed competition (with separate Best Accessory category) invites visitors to showcase their look for prizes, adding a fun, fashion-forward element without any mandatory standards. This relaxed Scandinavian approach applies across general admission and most areas, making the day accessible and enjoyable for all.
Our experiences include flights from London Heathrow to Stockholm Arlanda with British Airways.
Flights are also available from other UK airports with other airlines but may incur a supplement.
Onward flights are possible for those looking to spend a few nights in another European city either before or after your time in Stockholm.
Flight upgrades are available to Premium Economy, Business & First Class subject to being an option on the flight booked.
